About the Course
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation This course describes the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. It applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a workplace or community setting.

It includes learning about:
- Introduction to first aid principles
- Assessing a cardiac emergency situation
- Airway and breathing management
- Performing chest compressions
- Administering rescue breaths
- Infection control procedures
- Resuscitation techniques
- Using a defibrillator (AED)
- AED maintenance
